AMAC wants to protect you as a patient and has adopted MIDEO Video Advance Directives as a New Member Benefit.
AMAC members can now record their healthcare wishes on video so that doctors and first responders can see and hear them in seconds.
During a medical emergency, the people treating you may not know you, and may not be able to find or correctly read your paperwork. That’s why the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) has added MIDEO®, a physician-designed video advance directive, as a new member benefit.
Why video? Traditional paper advance directives often fail when they’re needed most. They can be hard to find, full of legal jargon, and easy to misread under pressure. Research led by MIDEO founder Dr. Ferdinando Mirarchi found that living wills and DNR orders are misinterpreted as often as 80% of the time. That can mean care a patient didn’t want, or treatment withheld that they did.
MIDEO (My Informed Decision on VidEO) was created to close that gap. MIDEO pairs a short video in your own words with a legally compliant advance directive form, so your intent is unmistakable.
How it works With a MIDEO ID card, a smartphone, or an Apple Wallet pass, clinicians scan one QR code to open your video and documents immediately. There are no portal logins and no wrinkled paper copies. If you update your wishes, the same QR code shows the newest version.
Different Problems. One Connected Journey.
MIDEO Health helps answer:
“What healthcare does my loved one want?”
MIDEO transforms advance care planning by helping individuals clearly communicate their healthcare decisions through video, either independently or in combination with existing legal documents.
Our goal: Make healthcare wishes clear, accessible, retrievable, and actionable when they matter most.
